ABOUT US
Younger Elder Publications evolved from a fuzzy idea into a real mechanism for publishing Christian literature. It all started with my father and he takes the blame for the establishment of Younger Elder Publications as well as its name.
At some point during his later years, my father started to end his e-mails with “sola gratia” – “grace alone”. This was in recognition of God’s grace given freely to each and every one of us.
I did some research on the phrase because my curiosity was piqued by his use of it. That may not have been his intent but it certainly was my response.
During the Protestant Reformation of the 1500s, the reformers had many points of disagreement with the Roman Catholic Church in Rome. As the Protestants evolved their statement of faith, several specific concepts emerged that highlighted the basic theological differences they had with the Roman Catholic Church. These concepts are known as the five solas:
- Sola Gratia – by grace alone
- Sola Fide – by faith alone
- Sola Scriptura – by scripture alone
- Solo Christo – through Christ alone
- Soli Deo Gloria – glory to God alone
These five solas became the framework for my first book Reformation Precepts in a 21st Century World. But what should I name my publishing company?
Once again my father provided the inspiration. When I had been elected an elder in my local congregation, my father had given me a study Bible. His inscription described himself as the “Older Elder”. Of course, that meant that I was the “Younger Elder”. So my publishing company had to be Younger Elder Publishing.

TITLES
Currently, Younger Elder Publications has two titles for sale through Amazon.
An additional series is in preparation. The tentative title is Mother Marcia Speaks… The books will be directed toward clergy, Christians, and congregations with additional title focusing on the Holy Bible, prayer, and devotions.

Inspired by her father’s e-mail tag line of “sola gratia”, Marcia decided to research the five solas of the Reformation. Then, compelled by the Holy Spirit, she started to write this book which has evolved into a devotional based on the five solas. Using reflections on both Old and New Testament Scripture intertwined with personal stories this devotional hopes to stimulate the reader to a deeper relationship with God.
This is a book that all Christians can enjoy regardless of denomination.

Bob McNutt was a son, a husband, a father, an engineer, an eternal student, a public speaker, a lover of history. But most of all Bob was a child of God and realized that all that he possessed and all that he had accomplished had been blessings from God. During his later years, Bob took to writing about his family and experiences in what he termed “Grandpa Stories”. Those stories are what you will find in this book. Stories about his family history, growing up in a small town in Michigan, serving in the Army during World War II, and establishing a vocation as a civil engineer. But mostly what you will find are the tender memories of a man who loved people and loved life.
